How we recommend
A recommendation is only worth having if you know how it was produced and what interests sat behind it. This page is the commitment; the Fit Map is the method.

Ranking is fit-weighted, and nothing else
Order comes from the Fit Map score against the priorities you set. Commission does not enter the calculation at any point. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

No resort can buy a position
We run no sponsored placements and no preferred-partner tiers today. If we introduce either, it will be labelled on the recommendation itself, not disclosed only here, and it will not reorder organic matches.

We are paid when you book
AskMaldives earns accommodation booking commission. That is a reason to be right rather than a reason to push: a booking that did not suit you costs us more in cancellations and reputation than it earns.

We never invent availability or price
Every rate and every room shown comes from a live availability check for your dates. Where we cannot confirm something, we say so instead of estimating. Prices and cancellation terms are reconfirmed before you book.

Uncertainty is shown, not hidden
A dimension we cannot verify reads 'Not enough data'. Transfer estimates are labelled as estimates. Costs that sit outside the displayed rate (resort transfers above all) are named on every recommendation.

We do not claim first-hand experience
Nobody at AskMaldives writes as though they have stayed at a resort they have not. Our recommendations are derived from resort data and stated as such. Editorial content carries its own authorship.

Every recommendation states a trade-off
A resort presented without a compromise is an incomplete recommendation. Where the data genuinely shows no conflict with your priorities, we say what we could not verify instead.

You approve the booking, always
The platform shortlists and prepares. You approve the resort, the room, the conditions and the payment. Nothing is booked on your behalf.

Some decisions belong to a person
Complex family configurations, accessibility requirements, medical considerations and unusual transfer requests are escalated to a human specialist rather than scored. You can ask for a review at any point.
What we are not
AskMaldives is an independent commercial platform. We are not the Maldives tourism authority, we are not affiliated with it, and we do not speak for any resort. Where we use the word “best”, it is always qualified: best for a stated traveller, on stated criteria. On its own the word means nothing.
Getting it wrong
If a recommendation was misleading, or a price or detail was wrong, tell us. Corrections matter more to us than a lost booking does.
